Nintendo DS + Imagination = Scribblenauts
To fill you in, Scribblenauts is a Nintendo DS puzzle/platformer releasing early next month. The player will have to input words into the DS’s screen, and those words written by the player will actually become objects used to complete objectives in the game. For example, if you write ‘ice cream cone’, it will appear within the game for you to use.
At the moment there has been confirmation that such ridiculous words like ‘Electra dolphin’, ‘Municipal building’ and ‘Rooster Helmet’ are in there too, so you can only imagine what else awaits. While we all wish that almost every single word imaginable would be in the game, there is a limit, or else little boys and girls will be discovering the birds and bees just a little too soon.
According to Crunchgear, the Scribblenauts dictionary consists of 22802 words. With every word having interactive animations and functions to them, the possibilities are incredibly vast with what solutions to problems people are going to come up with.
I guess our English teachers were right about one thing… that a dictionary will become useful at some point.
