Although E3 2010 is still a little while away, gamers around the world (including us) can’t wait to find out what the big developers and publishers have in store for us. There will undoubtedly be a wealth of game announcements and basically a lot of showing-off of titles we already know about. Besides the obvious Project Natal and Playstation Move lineup, we’re throwing out some predictions and guesstimations at what might be revealed at E3 in June. So before our speculations are ruined with legitimized announcements, we look into our crystal ball of gaming to bring to you the E3 2010 Predictions.
Gears of War 3
Although Cliff Bleszinski’s interview on Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night show, where he was possibly going to announce Gears of War 3, was postponed; this a no-brainer, as Gears 3 has undoubtedly been in production since the release of the second game. The cliffhanger ending of Gears of War 2 left us all wondering where the series is heading, and with E3 just around the corner, it’s the perfect time for a full Gears 3 blowout.
Probability: 10/10
Infamous 2
Cole MacGrath shocked everyone with the surprise hit, Infamous, on the Playstation 3 last year. It’s no surprise that the story and universe of Infamous will be expanded. A sequel is definitely in the works somewhere and we’re speculating that an Infamous 2 announcement or trailer could pop up at this year’s show.
Probability: 6/10
Grand Theft Auto 5
A new entry into the highly-acclaimed series is definitely in the pipelines; we’re just eager to see what it exactly is. Our guesses are that there is a full new crime-filled adventure awaiting as opposed to more DLC or stand-alone expansions. The record-selling series might make it’s jump away from Liberty City and introduce us to a fictional European city. Let’s cross our fingers that a fifth outing of the GTA series will make its appearance at E3.
Probability: 7/10
Resistance 3
Although Resistance 3 hasn’t officially been announced, there have been (not so) subtle hints across a giant billboard sign in an upcoming movie. Whether or not it’s true is irrelevant, as a third entry into the Resistance franchise is only a matter of time, and since the last console-based Resistance dropped back in 2008, it’s about time we saw more of Nathan Hale and the Chimera.
Probability: 7/10
DOOM 4
One of the most beloved franchises of all time has been absent from the gaming scene in the last few years. Doom 4 will inevitably make its appearance sometime, and we know this game is wandering in the shadows, waiting for the perfect time to pounce on its victims. E3 is possibly that time.
Probability: 5/10
Uncharted PSP
Nathan Drake’s second outing gathered commercial and critical acclaim by snagging numerous ‘Game of the Year’ awards and wowing fans with its gorgeous visuals, solid gameplay and breathtaking story. We’ve seen some of Playstation’s greatest franchises jump down to it’s portable console, including the Resistance, Gran Turismo, God of War and Jak & Daxter series, so it’s only natural for the Uncharted series to have a run on the PSP. Maybe come E3, we’ll see a pint-sized Naughty Dog adventure.
Probability: 6/10
Other (sketchy, but possible) predictions: Motorstorm 3, Saints Row 3, Xbox 360 ‘Slim’ reveal, Resident Evil 6, Burnout 6
