The action fantasy PSN and Xbox live game by Hothead games received a lot of praise and excitement after its release in July. So usually with such glory, a title like this would usually see an expansion or sequel a few months down the line, well at least more than 2 months. Thats not the case this time round. The sequel is called DeathSpank: Things of Virtue and the reason for such an immediate release is because the games were developed simultaneously.

Accordingly the game is 50% longer than the original and features new settings such as sea environments where you will be able sail ships to the North Pole.

As for the plot, well, it doesn’t get more ridiculous than this:

“A long time ago, nine mystical thongs were planned to bring balance and harmony to the universe, but when marketing got in the way, only six thongs were produced, and the result was disastrous. Granting great power to those who wear them, the thongs corrupted all those they touched—except DeathSpank. DeathSpank must find all six thongs and destroy them once and for all.”

Developer Hamish Miller also states that there will be no online multiplayer due to the extra features, although there will still be offline co-operative play.

Thongs of Virtue releases September 21 on PSN and September 22 on XBLA, at a price of $15.
